FLIPPER goes Inter­na­tional in 2012!

Influ­en­tial Punk/Grunge band Flip­per, hail­ing from the first wave of punk bands that devel­oped out of the rich San Francisco/West Coast punk rock move­ment, is announc­ing plans for shows, tours, and more album releases this year. Begin­ning with two spe­cial events on March 29 & 30, in Den­ver at the Lion’s Lair, to coin­cide with San Fran­cisco punk pho­tog­ra­phy exhibits by Ruby Ray and Bruce Con­nor. Then the band heads across the pond for their first full fledged UK/Europe tour in 19years. Flip­per did a short tour of UK/Ireland in 2006 dur­ing a two year stent with Krist Novoselic on bass. Now with Rachel Thoele (Frightwig, Mud­women) on bass, the band is off and run­ning once again.

A 30 year anniver­sary vinyl edi­tion of ALBUM — Generic Flip­per, will be released this year on, 4 Men With Beards in the US and Domino in the UK/Europe. Other album releases in the works include a stu­dio album with never before released mate­r­ial with found­ing mem­ber Will Shat­ter who died in 1987. The unre­leased tracks were left over from the 1983 Gone Fishin’ record­ing ses­sions. This mate­r­ial is the last of the stu­dio record­ings from the band’s 80’s era lineup. There may also be a brand new album of new songs out late in the year or early 2013. More US dates and world­wide tour­ing is in the works for 2012 and beyond.
